Summer 2009
Hello Dear Ones,
The big exciting news is that my band, ONE LOVE Devotional Chant,
is moving full speed ahead on our CD project, and we have the
fourth weekend in July set for the live-in–the-studio recording
marathon. We’ll be inviting some friends to sing with us
as responders for the call-and-response chants, and we’ll
be doing some pieces with just the four band members as well.
In addition, the wonderfully talented Charlie Shew will be joining
us on percussion and possibly some bass, as well as producing/
engineering the whole shebang. We hope to have the CD available
sometime in the fall. I’m really looking forward to making
this music available to all of you, since I’ve had so many
requests over the years for a chanting CD. In the meantime, please
visit our website at www.onelovechant.com
On another note, I’ve decided to take a break from leading
the Second Sunday Celebration Circles for the summer. The Common
Heart Interfaith Fellowship, which I started in 2005, is undergoing
some re-envisioning and re-structuring at this time. We may start
up again in the fall or create something totally new and different!
I’ll be sure to keep you posted.
Another cool thing that is happening this summer is that I was
invited to participate in the Second Annual Peace Pilgrim Celebration
in Egg Harbor City, NJ (the birthplace of Peace Pilgrim). I will
be the featured performer for the Friday night concert that will
kick off the weekend-long festivities, and I’ll be leading
a joint Unitarian/Quaker spiritual service on Sunday morning.
Many of you know that I wrote a song about Peace Pilgrim, as she
was one of my heroines. So I am honored and excited to be part
of this celebration.
I wish you all peace and a fruitful, sun-filled summer, with much
love and joy overflowing for you and your loved ones.
Many Blessings,
Jody
